 Dominant Powertrain & Refined Control Powering the bike is a balanced, broad-torque four-stroke motor, complete with EFI and a 42 mm throttle body for crisp throttle response and efficient delivery. Electric start provides the convenience riders expect, while the six-speed, wide-ratio transmission ensures optimal gear selection across varied terrain. The DDS clutch in oil-bath paired with hydraulic Braktec control delivers smooth, light operation and lasting reliability. Every component — including the robust crankshaft design, internal counter-balancer, and die-cast lightweight crankcases — has been engineered to maximize durability and rideability, translating power into confidence on every trail.
Trail-Tuned Chassis & Suspension Built to handle technical terrain and flowing trails alike, the EC 500F features a sturdy central double-cradle steel frame with an aluminum subframe for optimized mass centralization and stability. Up front, WP XPLOR USD forks with 300 mm of travel smoothly tame whatever comes your way, while the WP XACT rear shock with linkage—now with new low-friction seals—delivers controlled compliance and improved feedback. The updated swingarm boasts enhanced chain-slider durability and clean chain adjustment marks, while the wide, grippy footpegs increase control and the steel-reinforced triple clamps ensure precise steering under load.
Rider-Friendly Features & Durable Design Ergonomics are a priority, with large bodywork contact areas and a grippy seat surface that keeps the rider locked in, even in gnarly conditions. Maintenance is simplified via tool-free air filter access, and the slimmest possible fuel tank supports unobstructed movement and consistent control. Stopping power comes from Braktec calipers clamping 260 mm front and 220 mm rear discs, inspiring confidence when precision braking is essential. Slim aluminum radiators sit close to the center of mass, ensuring efficient engine cooling while keeping the bike narrow and nimble—making the EC 500F equally at home on long trail rides or tight technical sections.
