KTM 990 DUKE

The KTM 990 Duke, affectionately dubbed “The Sniper,” ushers in a new era for KTM’s naked bikes—offering a substantial upgrade over its predecessor. Built on the “Ready to Race” philosophy, it delivers sharper styling and enhanced performance while retaining the raw energy that defines the Duke range. From its bold LED lighting to its aggressive stance, this is a machine that looks as potent on the streets as it feels on launch.

Powerful Parallel-Twin & Intelligent Ride Tech Under its lean exterior sits a 947 cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 123 hp and 76 lb-ft of torque—delivering broad and accessible power throughout the rev range. Key upgrades include aggressive camshaft profiles, a new crank, and a widened radiator for improved cooling. Fuel is metered via ride-by-wire EFI, offering precise control across five ride modes—Rain, Street, Sport, Performance, and Track—plus cruise control, lean-sensitive traction and wheelie control, an optional quickshifter, and launch assist for confident and exhilarating rides.

Next-Level Chassis & Suspension Precision Residing on a thoroughly re-engineered tubular-steel trellis frame, the 990 Duke benefits from increased lateral and torsional stiffness, combined with a lighter, die-cast aluminium swingarm to improve handling response. The suspension setup includes a 43 mm WP Apex inverted fork and WP Apex rear shock—both fully adjustable via five-click compression and rebound, with a tool kit stored under the seat for quick tuning. Braking is handled by powerful twin 300 mm discs with radial four-piston calipers at the front and a 240 mm rear disc, all managed by switchable Supermoto ABS for versatile stopping power.

Refined Ergonomics & Everyday Tech Appeal Despite its aggressive performance, the 990 Duke offers commendable comfort and usability. The seat height is set at around 825 mm with an ergonomically sculpted seat that prevents weight shift under braking. A substantial 14–17 litre fuel tank provides practical range for spirited rides or daily commuting. A clear 5-inch TFT display offers USB-C charging, smartphone integration, GPS navigation, tyre-pressure monitoring, and selectable ride modes—all packed into a lightweight and supremely balanced machine that delivers unrelenting ride quality.
